WHAT A WEEK!

Jerry and Breoni have both been sick this week! Icky! We took Breoni to the doctor's office TWICE this week. Today, they said they thought she might have Pneumonia...but, luckily, the chest x-ray said otherwise. We are just going to have to gut it out!

On Monday, we bought a new toy... PlayStation2 (I know, I know... "3" is out and so is Wii... but we are newbies to all this so we are starting with 'older' technology!) We purchased Guitar Hero III (Thanks Sorensen's for introducing us to this great game.... "YOU ROCK!!"). And, also UNTAMED (which is MotorCycles and ATV's). Jerry also got a GOLF game. We got a LEGO's STAR WARS game that we haven't play yet. But, basically... we have been doing a lot of LAUGHING (and a bit of cussing) trying to figure out how to get 5 STARS (and more songs) and trying to 'steer' on UNTAMED! Jerry is getting very good at both and, well, I'm pretty much a disaster at steering...I seem to have a way of hitting EVERYTHING.... walls, cones, barricades, the fans! Jerry has had a great time laughing at my lack of aptitude for this stuff! It's HARD!

Breoni is still loving her gymnastics class! She jumps on the trampoline, can almost walk the entire beam by herself. She can climb the ladder...ALL BY HERSELF! And, she can almost flip her body over on her bar! I'll have to get some pictures and video of her next week. So, I can BRAG even more! Her teacher told us that she will probably move into the class for 3-year-olds when she turns TWO!! We just need to work on getting her not to need Mommy around to stay with the class... What a KID!

We are UP and RUNNING!

We have officially been approved by LDSFS (Latter Day Saints Family Services) to begin the 'waiting' for another child... The process seemed to take a bit more time. I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that I had to try to do it all when Breoni was sleeping!

We started our class in August... and it took until OCTOBER for me to get all the paper work completed. Then, we had our couples interview... and our individual interviews... and collecting letters of recommendation!

We were approved on February 6th. And, it has taken that long to get our site up an running on the "IT'S ABOUT LOVE" site which is affiliated with LDSFS. We'd love you to check that page out also!

http://www.providentliving.org/ses/birthmother/viewsingleprofile/0,12272,2133-1-8809-1-1,00.html

The site is ALSO "under construction" at this time... I'm really trying to learn html code to make our sites more dynamic, but well... it has been a bit tough! So, if you happen to check the link about and our page doesn't come up.... well, try again in a few days!
We are looking forward to adding another baby to the family!

Yucky! YUCKY! Influenza Type A!

January 30-February 3!

I was so sick!

I had scheduled to take January 30th off of work, becauseBreoni had her 18 month appointment with Dr. Coombs and my mom and dad were leaving. Mother Nature delivered a storm with a vengeance and Park City called a snow day! So, I received a phone call at about 5:45 and got up to call my portion of the phone tree...and I felt horrible!

I spent most of the day in bed... Breoni must have sensed how I felt, and she took an amazingly LONG nap! We still had GAME NIGHT with our friends... (I really should get a picture of this crew to post!) but I was still miserable...

I ended up calling in sick on both Thursday and Friday! Luckily for us we have KRISTA who still watched Breoni, because I was in so much pain. I learned that I had no understanding whatsoever of what "THE FLU" really is! The muscles in my whole upper body felt like I had down something outrageous. It was so painful on Thursday night I couldn't do anything but sit up... sleeping was difficult! I went to the doctor on Friday. He gave me a pain 'shot' which he said would give me some relief for about 6 hours... for almost exactly six hours I felt human again...but, whammy, when the shot wore off, I was down again. I felt pretty good by Monday, but the cough and tiredness lasted for almost two more weeks!

SYMPTOMS OF THE "REAL" INFLUENZA VIRUS:
muscles aches, head aches, fever, cough, fatigue

NOT A SYMPTOM THE "REAL" INFLUENZA VIRUS:
vomiting and diarrhea... that's some OTHER virus!

OF SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING THE "FLU SHOT":
It doesn't last for very long... maybe two months. And, it doesn't cover all the 'mutations' of the virus. So, the shot doesn't necessarily keep you from getting the virus!

GREAT MEDICATION:
TamiFlu... which has a pill and liquid form. And, is perscribed in a treatment dose or a preventative dose!!!!

Gramma and Grampa in TOWN!

January 22-30, 2008

Gramma arrived on Tuesday, January 22. Breoni and I picked her up from the Airport and we took her to the Dentist and to run a couple of other errands. Gramma watched Breoni on Wednesday, Thursday, Monday and Tuesday. They had several fun adventures! Including a trip to the hair salon and a visit from Jenn and Kate (who we miss and love tons!) Kate and Breoni had a great time playing! Aren't they SO cute?!

We went down to Aurora to visit the Sorensens for the weekend. On Saturday, we all went on a very fun ATV ride! The crew from left to right: (Back) Mike, Shawn(in the face mask) and Jerry. (Front) Savannah, Sierra, Charlee, Breoni, Tara and Gramma! (Can't believe we talked her into going with us! What a trooper!) Linda was the Photographer! Here's a little video of our adventures!

Grampa enjoyed spending time relaxing with Breoni! Pretty special moments...

PAINTING DISASTER!

A two day project that turned into 5 DAYS!
I finally(after having lived here for almost 4 years) scheduled time to paint 'most' of what I wanted to finish painting in our home, which was 2 walls in the kitchen/entry area, the full stairway and the upstairs hall in a color called MANOR GREY by Ralph Lauren. I really wanted to do this so I could get these cool frames and wall sayings up. It doesn't sound like it is a large area... but it really is! I took pictures of most of it so you call all see what a large area... and the fact that it includes lots of doors, a display case like area, and a very tall wall! I still am deliquent in getting the frames filled with pictures...except the ones that already had pictures. BUT, it was a disaster becasue "THEY" (Home Depot) mixed the paint the wrong color. BUT, I just thought it looked off since it was WET. NO! NO! NO! Then, I had to go the run-around with them to get them to remix the paint. It was very frustrating, but now that it is all done...it is a funny story and it looks GREAT!

And, I also painted the hallway into the garage a light grey color! So, now I am almost done painting my house... I have a 'very small' area that I'm going to paint the same light grey color as the hallway. And, I need to finish the last wall (that I originally wanted to keep white, but have changed my mind... I'm doing that a lot more lately!). Same with the 1/2 bath on the main level. I painted only two of the walls and would like to finish all four. Then, the main floor will be done. Upstairs, I'm debating painting the bathroom. And, the master bedroom is still all white, well I painted the master bath so that isn't really true. I can't decide what to paint in the master... and moving the bed (and other furniture) is going to be a serious event! I'm not even SHY about saying I'm procrastinating that in a MAJOR way!

I can't sleep... too much excitement around here!

Well, no matter how hard I try...there always seems to be TONS to do the week before christmas. Shopping, cooking, wrapping, decorating!! I didn't get all the decorations up this year... and some of them are still out waiting to be 'repaired'. Oh yes....those are the same clay pot soliders that resided under the end table for ALL of 2007... maybe they will find themselves repaired and on display for Christmas 2008! Breoni really wanted to help clean. EVERY time I got out the broom or swifer, she wanted to help! And, I often had to ask DADDY to help out... we found the the ICE CREAM sandwiches were a good deterent! A little chocolate and ice cream diversion never hurt! And, of course with all the excitement... Breoni was sure that she DIDN'T want to go to bed. "But, mama, I'll miss something!"...and, she's got her Daddy wrapped around her finger, so, "sure as shootin' " she'll start the crying laced with a significant amount of DADDY'S in there and he comes a runnin'! He even tried to help her fall asleep! Yep! It's totally TRUE! Jerry got IN Breoni's crib with her! It's a wonder the whole thing didn't collapse! I was actually impressed with Jerry and the crib during this playful adventure!
Which didn't work at all so, we ended up dancing and singing to the BACKYARDIGANS! She's got a bit of the red-headed-fire-in-her... so she was pretty assertive about wanting to watch her movie. She's SIGNING "more movie please" and putting a pretty good pout on!

And, SPIKE did a very good job of guarding the way downstairs. He is a wonderful dog. Incredibly patient and gentle with Breoni. She loves him dearly and looks forward to giving him treats everyday!
